Status quo.  No mandate.  Gridlock.  Right.

Wrong.  The Republicans are left with Ryan, an antedeluvian lightweight.  Hilary is a shoo in.  Even Cuomo.  The Fat Guy is too damn fat.

Barack Obama never has to go through this again.  On paper, he's in a box.  In fact, he's free to be the Big Guy.  The Republicans will not help; they are still in the grip of the loonies.
