The State of Obama
Mitch Daniels says Obama has done more than anyone to divide the
nation. It sounds hollow after Obama's brilliant speech.
But even Daniels had to concede that the rich had to kick in their fair share. We'll see if the GOP nominee is as smart.
We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well, while a growing number of Americans barely get by, or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share and everyone plays by the same set of rules.”
That's the campaign slogan. Class warfare. But pumped up by a lot of gung-ho patriotism and an array of practical measures on education, trade and energy, plus a quite dazzling attempt to identify with the Navy Seals.
It might not work, but he sounded forceful and combative. The Republicans must know, in their heart of hearts, that Mitt is bo match for Barack. And the Republicans in Congress have no good answer to the muddying of Wall St.
