As I get older< I realize that people just live the lives they live and then they die and that's that. We are given plenty of chances to change the script. It can always be a better script, a prouder script, but since we're not going o be around to read our own funeral oration, we just do our thing and leave it at that.
George Steinbrenner made money by spending money, a strategy most of us can't employ. He didn't always win, but as Joe Girardi's jersey annoyingly proclaims, he and his predecessors won often enough. He left many wounded on the playing field. He was a bastard. Let's not forget that.
