Celts Win

As a kid, I hated the Celtics because of Knicks rivalry. Now I root for Celtics. Kobe is fabulous, but for me, it comes down to Phil vs Doc, two ex-Knicks. But I like Doc so much better.

Happy Birthday Cole Porter

I've got you under my skin
I have got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart, you're really a part of me
And I've got you under my skin

I have tried so, not to give in
I've said to myself this affair it never would go so well
But why should I try to resist when I know so well
That I've got you under my skin

I would sacrifice anything come would might
For the sake of having you near
In spite of a warning voice, that comes in the night and repeats in my ear
Don't you know you fool you never can win
Use your mentality, wake up to reality
For each time I do, just the thought of you makes me stop before I begin
Because I've got you under my skin

...and almost a thousand more.

Mets Take Pitcher

Mets look like they got pretty decent pitcher in Matt Harvey from Carolina. Pitcher is always the best bet, especially since oollege isn't sole source of talent.

Likes, Dislikes

I so prefer Doc Rivers to Phil Jackson, although they're both ex-Knicks.

Pursuit of Perfection

No perfect game for Mr. Gallaraga. And what about the World Cup football?

Venting

O. says he's felt his anger. I had dinner tonight with some guys who were venting their anger against BP, the contractors and the Feds. One of them is a diver and sort of knew what he was talking about. The other guy just gets mad whenever he has the opportunity.

This oil spill, so far under the sea, has everybody thinking they could have turned it off.

Today BP might have made some progress. I hope so, just to change the public discourse.

Worse than an oil spill?

"I just cost that kid a perfect game," Joyce said. "I thought he beat the throw. I was convinced he beat the throw, until I saw the replay."

"Biggest call of my career, and I kicked the s**t out of it."

Bebe

Netanyahu is trying the world's patience. I've never liked him. He's an American type. I'd rather see an Israeli type. He doesn't give a shit what the world thinks of him. I get that. I'll give him that in fact, but he has got to be rational.
